Chevrolet 2009 Pickup Trucks Gasoline 21 22
General Motors has made the full-size 2-Mode hybrid used in it’s big SUVs available to its trucks. The previous Silverado Hybrid widely publicized feature was it functioned as a worksite generator. The brand new 2009 model is made to bring noticeably better fuel efficiency. This Chevrolet pickup truck driven by the identical 332 hp/367 lb-ft 6.0L V8 hybrid drive-train as it cousin hybrids; the Escalade, the Tahoe and the Yukon. General Motors says this hybrid Silverado will provide a 40% increase in city miles per gallons and a 25% overall increase compared to the gas only versions. The full size pickup truck has is the most fuel-efficient in the industry. (Environmental Protection Agency numbers are still to be determined). This hybrid pickup can operate in “all electric” mode up to 30 miles per hour, even while towing up to 6,100 lbs! “All electric” operation works for up to a whole mile when the battery has a full charge.

The standard tonneau cover gives an added benefit to the fuel efficiency, a trick widely used in the after market industry.

The most noticeable visual different between Silvarado Hybrid and the gas/diesel only version is the battery pack resides under the back seat, possibly limited some storage space.
